The Gyrokinesis® Method is a movement method that addresses the entire body, opening energy pathways, stimulating the nervous system, increasing range of motion, and creating functional strength through rhythmic, flowing movement sequences. It is an original and unique method that coordinates movement, breath, and mental focus. Practiced on a mat and chair without equipment, participants in a Gyrokinesis class depend more on their proprioception to explore movement sequences.
GYROKINESIS® classes can be adapted to fit anyone's ability. People from all walks of life take Gyrokinesis classes, including accomplished athletes, fitness enthusiasts, seniors and people recovering from an injury or dealing with a disability. By the end of a Gyrokinesis session, one's entire system is awakened and brought into greater balance. Focus on the breath stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system resulting in a sense of calm, well-being, and mental clarity.
Janice discovered about GYROKINESIS® in 2006 while she was recovering from a significant back injury. Determined to heal and avoid surgery, Janice learned about the GYROTONIC® METHOD, which was the beginning of her physical healing. She was so moved and inspired by the classes' results that she traveled to Germany in October 2007 to become a certified GYROKINESIS® trainer. Since then, Janice has taught classes in Sacramento, California both in studio and virtually.
Virtual classes are held via Zoom on Saturdays, Sundays, and Wednesdays.
