Tui Na, pronounced as "twee naw," is a massage technique rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that has been practiced for over 2,000 years. This therapeutic approach involves a variety of methods such as rubbing, scraping, and pinching, aimed at addressing specific health concerns.
As an integral component of TCM, Tui Na is formally taught in TCM schools and utilizes a combination of traction, massage, and manipulation techniques along with the stimulation of acupressure points. While it is not primarily intended for relaxation purposes, Tui Na is highly effective in providing stress relief and treating a wide range of conditions, including chronic stress-related issues.
Janice studied Tui Na with Michael Eakin, at The Body Tune-Up School, in Northern California. In 2011, she completed over 200 hours of training and studied abroad, in China, with a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Doctor. He is a Doctor of Tui Na and Western Medicine.
